SALT workshops

Hans first heard about SALT/CLCP through Carmen in the summer of 2014. Little by little in Ghana and in Belgium, Hans learnt about it and now loves this community approach! Blaise from the Red Cross in Togo (remember our crazy trips to Togo?) helped Hans and Carmen to use SALT with communities. Not mentioning our SALTy angels Laurie, JL and Celicia, who are always there to advice us! Hans has now attended one of the annual 3 days Belcompetence SALT formations Belgium, that Carmen had already attended the year before. 10 minutes afters the start, the facilitators where doing what they are good at, creating a wonderful intimate ambience! An ambience where people feel that they can trust each other, can make mistakes without judgement and where every opinion count. Therefore people were eager to participate as they discovered the SALT/CLCP approach.

SALT/CLCP is quite an alternative way of supporting people to create local responses to their problems. To Hans a surprise (most) people understood the concept quite fast. H2CGhana wants to create the same ambience in Ghanian communities...this is NOT easy, many obstacles, many ups and downs, but it is a wonderful challenge we are not going to drop! :) :) :)
