Day 41: Bussiness in your head!

Felicia often comes by our place to chat, play a little rummy or enjoy our extravagant dishes (which she eats with no complain!). She is a very nice hardworking girl who is working in a microfinance company and selling at the shop of her grandmother. She is now applying for nursing studies!

Let us now explain you a bit more about our experience in Ghana!

In most places where we walk around, there are many many many people selling all kinds of goods (food, clothes, water...) Some carry around the merchandise on his/her head and others have a market stand on the sidewalk. Not many chains have replaced small business holders in Ghana (except in Osu, Accra for instance, where foreigners usually gather). As a consequence, most of the people can earn money and for us.... when we need to eat on the street we can buy cheap food which is good (healthy). Unlike in Belgium where people often need to eat fries and hamburgers if they don’t want to spend too much.

Things like that make us excited, us not all countries are following the same economical patern!
